They are manufactured using GG15 HC, a High Carbon Grey Cast Iron material, that allows the discs to run cooler, meaning they not only offer superb performance but are less likely to distort and suffer from Noise Vibration and Harshness (NVH) problems such as hot judder and brake squeal.
Black painted
To provide increased corrosion resistance and performance, our Tesla Model S brake disc is black painted. By coating parts of the disc on a special black paint, a unique surface is created that adds a protective barrier against corrosion.
